How can we help?

  • Does OHIP cover eye exams?
Children’s eye exams (19 and younger), as well as seniors exams (65+), are covered annually. Eye exams for adults are not automatically covered but there are a range of conditions that may qualify you for exam coverage.
  • How often should I do my exam?
It is recommended to have an annual eye exam if you are under 20 or over 65 years of age or have any medical conditions such as diabetes (as deemed by a doctor). You are covered for a free annual eye exam with a valid health card. If you are between 20-65 years of age, recommended every 1-2 years.
  • When/How can I schedule an eye exam?
You can schedule an eye exam by calling the store at 519 749-2020. Our optometrist is available every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday.
  • I don’t have coverage. How can I pay?
Our optical centre accepts payment methods including credit card, debit card, and cash for non-covered vision services and products (prescription contacts, glasses, sunglasses, or repairs).
  • Do you offer direct billing to my insurance company?
Yes, most major insurance companies allow us to submit and receive eligible payments electronically. Check your policy for coverage details.
  • Do I need an appointment?
No appointments are needed for walk-in repairs and same day service is available for most repairs, as long as we have a reasonable time that day and no special parts are needed for the order, etc. We accept walk-in appointments for eye exams as long as we are not fully booked. In order to ensure you are taken care of, we recommend calling in advance to ensure we have a doctor available that day and time for you to be properly examined. For any further questions, please feel free to call us and ask! We are here to help. Please review the COVID-19 Policies for up-to date changes to our regular procedures and changing guidelines.
  • Do I need to bring anything to my eye exam appointment?
If you are currently using any medication, please bring a list to your appointment for your doctor. If you are currently using contact lenses or glasses, bring them to your appointment. Please bring your health card and your insurance coverage slip, if applicable.
  • Do you have free parking?
Yes, parking is free in a Designated Parking Lot behind our building (signs are posted specific on our reserved spots). Street parking is also available, where the city allows (see city signage). Additional parking is available in the Benton Parking Garage (at an additional cost).
  • How much do repairs cost?
Every pair of glasses repair is unique to the type of material, the frame, and the construction of the glasses. In order to give you an exact quote, our skilled eyewear consultants would have to visually inspect and assess the repair. Most minor repairs (if no parts or additional services are required), are generally free.
  • How much do Lenses cost?
Lens cost can vary based on the material, features, and your particular prescription. If you bring in your prescription to our store, we would be happy to discuss all available options to you.
  • Do you offer a Warranty?
Every pair of glasses comes with a 1-year manufacturers warranty on the frame.
  • Do you offer Exchanges or Returns?
Due to the nature of the business, there is no exchange or refunds available on eyewear.
  • How do I purchase a pair of glasses on your website?
Simply copy the product model number of the pair you would like to purchase and fill out our Product Request Form.
  • What happens after I requested a pair of glasses?
Once we receive your request we will contact you at the phone number provided as soon as we can. We will call to you to confirm the order and provide further instructions related to your prescription, payment, pickup and/or delivery options (extra charge).
